NOHO FARMERS MARKET
The NoHo Arts District Farmers Market is a festive, family-friendly, open-air marketplace committed to bringing fresh, locally grown food to the surrounding neighborhood. Enjoy a variety of fruits and vegetables from California farmers, as well as other foods including breads, nuts, ethnic foods, cheeses, fruit juices, and cookies. You’ll also find clothing, crafts, and children’s activities, plus much more. Conveniently located just steps away from the North Hollywood Metro stop on the Red Line. This open-air street market has approximately 20 farmers, 20 local artisans, and 30 vendors who provide baked goods and prepared foods. I find my favorite organic apples and organic dinosaur kale weekly… Also, enjoy lots of samples. There are great deals to be made with farmers who come from as far as Sacramento.

This loop is a good introduction to the kinds of stair walks we like to do. It is scenic, relatively short, has only 1,100 feet of climbing, traverses 24 stairways, as well as one pedestrian under-crossing, and one over-crossing of the I-101 freeway.
In addition to the stairways, this recently created 8.25 mile route visits neighborhoods surrounding Echo Park Lake, with great views of the lake, the buildings in DTLA, and the Victorians on the streets in Angelino Heights. It also passes through Vista Hermosa Park, and cruises by the former Queen of the Angels Hospital.

WORK IN PROGRESS: A NEW ART MARKETPLACE
Cultural curator and urban anthropologist Roger Gastman is co-curating Work In Progress, an ambitious interactive installation-pop-up-art-marketplace with Clive Davis’ son Doug Davis. The new art marketplace seeks to disrupt the traditional gallery paradigm by making desirable contemporary art immediately available in real time.
W.I.P. will transform a prominent but now defunct karaoke club in Downtown Los Angeles into a warren of pop-up galleries with individual rooms each devoted to specific artists. New works will be added constantly, making the experience an interactive and ever-changing “work in progress.”
Access to an array of works by artists including POSE, REVOK, Richard Colman, Shawn Kolodny, Adam Wallacavage, Cleon Petersen, Tasya Van Ree and Sage Vaughn will be available, as well as select prints by Ed Ruscha and John Baldessari.
Work in Progress will open exclusively in downtown LA on Black Friday, November 27, 2015 until the end of December.
