THE ROOFTOP FILM CLUB SCREENING SERIES
Ready for another season of classic movies screened at an epic rooftop location in the heart of Hollywood? The Rooftop Film Club screening series made its Los Angeles debut in 2015 and now they’ve just announced return dates for the series starting this April 6. For the uninitiated, Rooftop Film Club screenings are held on the roof of the Ricardo Montalbán Theatre (just across from the Hollywood / Vine Metro Station), offering Angelenos one of the most unique movie going-experiences in the city. Instead of an outdoor speaker system, guests relax in lawn chairs while enjoying the movie’s audio via headphones, which are provided for each attendee.
Doors open for each screening at 6:00pm, with snacks and drinks available for purchase, and (usually) a gorgeous sunset to take in all before the movies get underway at 8pm.
2016 Schedule
Fri Apr 29: The Goonies
Sat Apr 30: Sunset Boulevard

Doors open at 6pm and the screenings start at 8pm. All events are 18+

SPRING SWING SOCIAL AT ONE COLORADO
A super fun, super social and totally family-friendly event celebrating the spirit of friends and community (and our glorious So Cal spring weather).
Fling into spring with our Spring Swing Social, featuring swing lessons with the Stevens Sisters of Pasadena Ballroom Dance at 5:30pm followed by music with The Leftover Cuties at 7pm. There’ll be a no-host bar serving up tasty bevies to help, shall we say, further engage your sociability. From 1-3pm in the courtyard, we’ll have Ping-Pong and board games from whence to play. And we’ll be serving up pleasantries with our conversation starters and ice cream treats from Peddler’s Creamery (while supplies last). And for the little ones there’ll be face painting (while the artists last). Come be neighborly and hang out. All day if you so choose. About the Steven Sisters of Pasadena Ballroom Dance Association (PBDA): Erin and Tami Stevens are sisters who, since 1983, have owned and operated The Pasadena Ballroom Dance Association. The Stevens sisters are recognized for their enormous contribution in “bringing back Swing” in the 1980s, and have both traveled extensively, teaching Swing dance around the globe. They teach group classes and hold weekly Swing dances with live Swing bands. Featured in various films, news articles and television productions, the two were also honored to dance on two spate occasions aboard floats in the Pasadena Tournament of Roses “Rose Parade”.
About Leftover Cuties: Everyone loves the Cuties. Whether you dance or sit to their music, they’ll certainly entertain you with their lively renditions of prohibition-era jazz numbers. Cuties Shirli McAllen (lead vocals, ukulele), Austin Nicholsen (bass, ukulele, vocals), Mike Bolger (brass, keys, accordion, vocals) and Stuart Johnson (drums, vocals) have sparked a fire among fans with a timeless sound, combining Shirli’s sultry vocals, pop-perfect songwriting, and seasoned musicianship. Their impeccable and atmospheric live performances draw ever-growing and increasingly passionate crowds in the speakeasies and rock clubs of their hometown Los Angeles. A string of impressive licensing placements have won them fans the world over. We love having them at One Colorado!

“JOURNEY THIS” ONE-WOMAN SHOW STARRING CHERAY O’NEAL
This fantastic one-woman show starts NAACP Image Award winner Cheray O’Neal. This unique play takes the audience down a humorous soul searching odyssey to forgiveness, and raises the question “is happiness a choice or a by-product?” After her last living relative dies, Journey is faced with a choice; suffer or forgive. O’Neal’s writing and thespian skills are stellar in this well-paced and developed play. Her sold out shows have been captivating audiences while they experience the journeys of the many characters she plays. “Journey This” is inspiring and controversial with an uplifting and daringly humorous message of female empowerment. O’Neal portrays both male and female characters ranging for ages 6 to 80 flawlessly. Such characters include a little girl from the 1950s, a 17-year-old boy from the streets, an 80-year-old socialite, to an erotic poet.
Hailing from New York, Cheray O’Neal’s credits cross a diverse spectrum from film to the stage. Not only is she a published author, her acting has granted opportunities in the films “H4” produced by Harry Lennix (“Blacklist”), “Honesty” by Mark Pellington (“Blindspot”), and is a proud member of The Labyrinth Theater Company of New York. She’s worked with actors Philip Seymour Hoffman, Judy Reyes, David Zayas, and Loretta Devine, as well as singers Macy Gray and Adam Lambert.
Testimony of the show: https://youtu.be/ogjarvwszJg
The show is associate produced by visual effects master Rick Alonso (“Scandal”), directed by Lenore Thomas Douglas (“Princess Diaries”), and Tovaris Wilson, choreographer of “America’s Got Talent”. Some of the proceeds will be donated to Playforpink.org and Stoller Filer Planned Parenthood of Watts.

KAT HUTTER & ROGER LEE: ANOTHER CALIFORNIA DAY
In the mixed-media installation created for the PMCAs Project Room, painter Kat Hutter and ceramicist Roger Lee present a deconstructed and abstracted vision of the quintessential California landscape. Inspired by the rugged, scenic beauty of the state, the unprecedented collaboration is an intersection of the artists independent practices, their photographic explorations of California, and their combined endeavor K&R Ceramics. Kat Hutter and Roger Lee: Another California Day is an uncharted, distinctive combination of media that considers the intersections of natural and created environments, beauty and the work that makes it possible.
