HOLLYWOOD SUBWAY ZOMBIE WALK
Time and again the humans have repelled our hordes from their precious Walk of Fame. Well I say “Brraaaaiiggnnnnnss! Uuuurrrhn…ugh…bbrrrrrrnnns” which loosely translates in to “Well, I say no more! This year we shall take it, an en masse!”
Welcome boils and ghouls to the 8th Annual Hollywood Subway Zombiewalk!!!
Here is the plan:
– Meet at the North Hollywood Red Line Station 4:15 p.m.
– Hop the Red Line to Hollywood & Highland at 4:50p.m.
– Arrive at H&H Metro Station and take escalator to the surface
– LURCH!!!
Please be on time (or early). TIMING IS KEY and it’s better to be safe than sorry. Also some quality bonding zombing time before the action is such a huge part of the fun. And getting a train full of zombies to unload at once is a beautifully jarring experience for those caught unaware. If you can’t make the train, the horde should be unloading at the H&H station and officially start our lurch at about 5pm.
There undead masses will flood out of the Hollywood and Highland Metro station, up through the escalators and out on to The Walk of Fame! From there we go east toward Hollywood and Vine. We, the undead, will shamble, moan, groan and loudly proclaim our craving for brains moving at a nice Romero speed. Slow and Steady keeps us together and the more effective our walk is. When we get to Hollywood and Vine, we loop back around and are home to mangle some tourists at Madame Tussauds by sundown. We usually crowd for a photo-op in the courtyard before the security double-taps us and at that point the walk is officially concluded. There are plenty of places to grab a “bite” nearby. Just be aware that being covered in blood and gore may make it a little harder for servers to I.D. you.
Our route from H&H can be seen here:

BASIC RULES:
1. Haunted House Rules! Don’t touch anyone! Some people will dig what we are doing, others might genuinely be freaked. Be cool. No touchy.
2. Do not attempt to scare anyone who is not a willing participant. Avoid confrontation. If someone seems freaked or want to start something, calmy shamble away.
3. Stay on the sidewalk!!! When crossing the street it is okay to break character and shamble quickly across. Let’s try and keep as many people to together as possible, while at the same time, keep in mind… We are not a parade. We have no permits to do what we are doing so holding up traffic is not only rude, but against the law as well.
4. No littering, destruction of property or any other illegal activity. Be good! We are here to demand brains, not be jerks.
5. Do not attempt to push your way in to a place of business that clearly does not want you there.

FOUND LA: THE SOUL OF THE CITY FREE TOURS
LA Commons hosts its 6th Annual Found L.A. ‘Festival of Neighborhoods’ FREE Tours. Their fall tour event builds on Trekking LA activities in June that enabled Angelenos to delve into the Muslim faith, deepening our collective understanding. We partnered with a range of local Islamic and Interfaith organizations for a wonderful celebration of Ramadan, kicking off the month of fasting with music, poetry and of course, food. There were also tours of Mosques around town.
Participants in Found LA this year will have the opportunity to not only get familiar with Islam but to explore the amazing diversity of religions in Los Angeles and the cultural practices embedded within them. Consider Wat Thai Temple in North Hollywood, where Thai Buddhists gather to observe their faith and partake in the offerings at an incredible food marketplace. First AME church in Los Angeles was founded by Los Angeles pioneer Biddy Mason and others and is now housed in a landmark building designed by Paul Williams with not to be missed historic murals inside. The Wilshire Boulevard Temple recently underwent a multimillion-dollar renovation restoring this treasure of the City to its original glory and providing a showplace for those of the Jewish faith and others to come together.
Found L.A. is a FREE, annual citywide event that showcases culturally dynamic neighborhoods through the eyes of residents, public figures and renowned artists, who generously volunteer to share their unique perspective and passion for their neighborhood. Found L.A. is open to anyone who wants to organize a tour of their neighborhood, and anyone who wants to learn more about the vast expanse that is Los Angeles. All tours are open and FREE to the public; people may sign up for multiple tours.
