This event occurs simultaneously with the multimedia opening of “Iannis Xenakis: Composer, Architect, Visionary” at MOCA Pacific Design Center. It is based on the 1971 sound and light spectacle by widely influential composer Iannis Xenakis and takes place in downtown LA at dusk. Performed in the Los Angeles State Historic Park, Persepolis L.A. will be the first “recreation” of Xenakis’s legendary Polytope de Persepolis, originally staged in the skeletal remains of ancient ruins in the remote Iranian desert. The event involves high volume levels and earplugs are recommended.
