BOOTIE LA @ The Regent: Bootie Rio comes to LA! João Brasil, Tripp, R.A.I.D., more!
Bootie Rio comes to LA! Bootie LA is proud to present special Brazilian guest DJ João Brasil, one of the resident DJs of Bootie’s monthly party in Rio de Janeiro! He’ll be throwing down a special South American flavored set, which mashes up some of the great Brazilian styles – bossa nova, baile funk, tecnobrega and more – with anything and everything. Prepare to get your hips swaying and your feet moving! Joining him on the decks will be Bootie SF resident DJ Tripp, helping to keep the party going with the greatest mashups in the universe all night long. Resident dance crew R.A.I.D. will fill the stage with their patented go-go insanity, while Shutter Tribe will be in the house to snap all the fun so you can remember what you did! Plus FREE Bootie mashup CDs for the first 100 people through the door!
Launched in 2003 by San Francisco DJ duo A Plus D, Bootie was the first club night dedicated solely to the then-burgeoning artform of the bootleg mashup — and is now the biggest mashup event in the world, with regular parties in several cities on four continents. Voted “Best Club Night” for the past nine years, Bootie celebrates pop culture both past and present, keeping your brain guessing and body dancing with creative song combinations. Mixing and matching every musical genre, era, and style into one big dance party, it’s a place where everyone is welcome. And with free mashup CDs given away like candy, Bootie provides the soundtrack for the A.D.D. generation.

2015 HOLLYWOOD FRINGE FESTIVAL
The Hollywood Fringe Festival is an annual, open-access, community-derived event celebrating freedom of expression and collaboration in the performing arts community. Each June during the Hollywood Fringe, the arts infiltrate the Hollywood neighborhood: fully equipped theaters, parks, clubs, churches, restaurants and other unexpected places host hundreds of productions by local, national, and international arts companies and independent performers.
Participation in the Hollywood Fringe is completely open and uncensored. This free-for-all approach underlines the festival’s mission to be a platform for artists without the barrier of a curative body. By opening the gates to anyone with a vision, the festival is able to exhibit the most diverse and cutting-edge points-of-view the world has to offer. Additionally, by creating an environment where artists must self-produce their work, the Fringe motivates its participants to cultivate a spirit of entrepreneurialism in the arts.

RESTAURANT.COM GIFT CERTIFICATES
Every few days this unique site does an amazing sale. Here’s how their site benefits over 5 million customers: find the restaurant you want to eat at and gift certificates of multiple denominations. Normally a $25 gift certificate that requires a minimum $35 purchase (+ 18% gratuity on the total bill) for 2 people sells for $10. Well, if they’re having an 80% off sale that voucher comes out to only $2! Spend $2 and get $25 off of your $35 check. This is totally legitimate and restaurants are usually quite appreciative for the new business.
