“HEATHERS” SCREENING + MUSICAL TRIBUTE TO THE 80’s AT SUNNYSIDE CEMETERY
Winner of the 1990 Independent Spirit Award for Best First Feature, director Michael Lehmann’s “Heathers” stars Winona Ryder as Veronica, a high school student as desperate to get in with the in-crowd as she is too intelligent to not be aware of their shallowness and vapidness. Enter J.D., a loner-rebel who aligns himself with Veronica, first in playfully mocking the jocks and cheerleaders that surround their world, then ultimately suggesting increasingly macabre ways of dealing with them… The role made an instant star of Christian Slater, who plays J.D. with an oozing sinister charisma that recalls the best of Jack Nicholson.
Online (starting June 1): $12, At the Gate: $15; Online sales end one hour before each event’s start time.
