LA TIMES FESTIVAL OF BOOKS 2017
It’s time again for the nation’s largest literary festival, the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books! The 22nd annual event, taking place April 22-23 at the University of Southern California, will feature more than 500 authors, celebrities, musicians, artists and chefs. On Friday, April 21, the 37th annual Book Prizes will honor reading and educational activist Ruebén Martinez with the Innovator’s Award, novelist Thomas McGuane with the Robert Kirsch Award for lifetime achievement, and 11 outstanding literary works published during the last year.

45TH ANNUAL BUNA-SAI JAPANESE CULTURAL FESTIVAL
The 45th Annual Bunka-Sai Japanese Cultural Festival will feature performances, exhibits, demonstrations, and workshops celebrating Japanese culture. Workshops will include Japanese dance and music, martial arts, flower arranging, calligraphy, a tea ceremony, and more! RECORD STORE DAY 2017
Record Store Day is the one-day of the year when over 200 independent record shops all across the UK come together to celebrate their unique culture. Special vinyl releases are made exclusively for the day and many shops and cities host artist performances and events to mark the occasion. Thousands more shops celebrate the day around the globe in what’s become one of the biggest annual events on the music calendar. The first Record Store Day was officially kicked off by Metallica in San Francisco in 2008 and is now held every third Saturday in April.
